NYC Election Results: Here's Who Won the Local Races (UPDATES)
There were a number of noteworthy local races, as well as one big national race in New York.

NEW YORK, NY — It's not exactly a secret that four of NYC's five boroughs always go heavily in favor of the Democrats on Election Day. Staten Island is the only one that doesn't.
There were dozens of political races held in New York City this Election Day alone. To browse through the full list of 2016 winners, you can visit the NYC Board of Elections website, where you'll find all the voting totals with up-to-the-minute accuracy:

United States Senator (citywide): 10,146 of 15,391 precincts reporting
- Chuck Schumer (D): 68.75 percent
- Wendy Long (R): 24.02 percent
- Robin Laverne Wilson (G): 1.55 percent
- Alex Merced (L): 0.6 percent
There were also a few local races which gained attention during the primary season this year. While all were expected to go in favor of the Democrats, some are still historic races for other reasons. In Upper Manhattan and the South Bronx, for example, Adriano Espaillat is expected to claim the congressional seat held by Charlie Rangel for a full four decades. Meanwhile, Marisol Alcantara is expected to replace Espaillat in a contentious State Senate, and Niou expected to become the first Asian-American woman to serve in the State Assembly. And Jon Girodes, although far from victorious, shot to infamy infamy in the 30th Senate District after promising to hand out watermelons, fried chicken and Kool-Aid to voters in Harlem. He was also later arrested for rent fraud.
13th U.S. Congressional District (Upper Manhattan/South Bronx): 455 of 496 precincts reporting
- Adriano Espaillat (D): 81.73 percent
- Tony Evans (R): 6.19 percent
- Daniel Vila (G): 3.18 percent
30th State Senate District (Harlem): 222 of 241 precincts reporting
- Bill Perkins (D): 88.05 percent
- Jon Girodes (R): 4.26 percent
New York State Senate District 31 (Upper Manhattan): (221 of 235 precincts)
- Marisol Alcantara (D): 77.34 percent
- John Toro (Conservative): 1.1 percent
- Melinda Crump (R): 7.08 percent
New York State Assembly District 65 (Lower East Side/Chinatown/FiDi): (93 of 98 precincts)
- Yuh-Line Niou (D): 66.89 percent
- Bryan Jung (R): 13.16 percent
- Alice Cancel (Women's Equality): 4.93 percent
