NYC Orgs Will Get $100 Per COVID Vaccine Referral
"We want to incentivize these great community-based organizations to bring in folks who just haven't gotten around to it," the mayor said.

NEW YORK CITY — A new effort to boost coronavirus vaccinations in the city will give community organizations $100 for every New Yorker they refer to get a shot.
"We want to incentivize these great community-based organizations to bring in folks who just haven’t gotten around to it,” Mayor Bill de Blasio said Monday.

Groups can receive up to $20,000 for referrals under the bonus program starting Wednesday, de Blasio said.

The bonuses are the latest incentives offered by the city as the pace of coronavirus vaccinations slows.
Roughly 8.77 million doses of vaccine have gone into arms so far, de Blasio said. About 65 percent of adults received at least one dose, according to city data.

But the daily number of vaccinations has slowed from nearly 100,000 a day on average in April down to about 26,000 a day.
De Blasio said the city will also offer 15 more "staycation" packages at local hotels for New Yorkers who get vaccinated this week.
