NEW YORK CITY — New York City is severing all contracts with the Trump Organization over the president’s “criminal” incitement of an insurrection, Mayor Bill de Blasio said.

De Blasio, appearing on MSNBC’s Morning Joe on Wednesday, said the four contracts are worth $17 million. They cover the Central Park Carousel, the Wollman and Lasker skating rinks and Ferry Point Golf Course.

The contracts clearly state that they can be terminated over criminal activity, de Blasio said.

“Inciting an insurrection against the United States government clearly constitutes criminal activity,” he said. “The City of New York no longer will have anything to do with the Trump Organization. They have profited from these contracts, they will profit no longer.”

President Donald Trump faces mass condemnation and — as of this writing — likely impeachment over his role in a Jan. 6 mob attack on the U.S. Capitol. Rioters stormed the building after a fiery Trump speech hoping to disrupt — at the very least — the legal certification of President-elect Joe Biden’s win.

Losing the New York City contracts is only the latest fallout for Trump.

It also erases his connection with Wollman Rink, an iconic Central Park attraction that had fallen into disrepair in the 1980s. Trump took it over to much fanfare and long claimed credit for its revitalization.

City officials, in a release, said the formal termination process will take several weeks.

“The Carousel is currently closed and termination will be effective 25 days after the City’s termination notice is delivered,” the release states. “The Agreement for the Wollman and Lasker Rinks terminates after 30 days written notice. The process for terminating the Ferry Point Golf Course is more detailed and is expected to take a number of months.”

The Central Park Conservancy backed the decision.

“The Central Park Conservancy fully supports the City’s decision to revoke the current rinks and Carousel concession contracts in the Park,” officials said in a statement.

A Trump Organization spokesperson blasted the move in a statement reported by CNN reporter Kara Scannell.

"The City of New York has no legal right to end our contracts and if they elect to proceed, they will owe The Trump Organization over $30 million," the statement reads.
