The NYC Subway Perv Hall Of Shame

NEW YORK, NY — They lurk beneath the New York City grid, cornering their victims in subterranean train stations and subway cars like wolves among hordes of powerless, packed-in sheep. They're as integral a drawback of the MTA commute as the rats and drunks and signal problems. They're the storied subway perverts of NYC — the masturbators, the gropers, the stalkers, the upskirt voyeurs who insist the rest of the commuting public bear witness to their sickest inclinations.

Perhaps equally storied are the subway pervert "wanted" ads blasted out to the city's media outlets by the NYPD's press office — often complete with compromising cellphone pics of the suspects, snapped by quick-thinking victims or witnesses. The NYPD then asks news outlets to circulate the pics, hoping someone will recognize a suspect and alert detectives.

Police have sent out around 50 of these ads since mid-2015 — yet have only reported arresting a handful of the suspects.

That's been bugging us. So we raked through our inbox in search of all the city's forgotten perv hunts, and have compiled them below in Patch's first-ever (Alleged) NYC Subway Perv Hall Of Shame. Because getting from point A to point B via the crumbling, chronically delayed MTA system is enough of a grind without some dude's junk in your face for half the ride.

But before y'all start sharpening your pitchforks: It's important to note that none of these men have been convicted of a crime. They will remain innocent unless proven guilty in court.

And remember: This list represents only a small cross-section of the hundreds of sex crimes committed on the city's public transit system each year. (Specifically, they're the ones in which NYPD detectives were having trouble tracking down a suspect, so they turned to the public for assistance.) You may notice that the suspects in said cases are almost all black and Hispanic. That's troubling — and does not reflect the larger trend. Federal data shows that overall in America, around two-thirds of registered sex offenders and sex-crime convicts are white.

Surely we can all agree, though: No one should be getting away with this filth. And publicizing the stories of the city's subway sex-crime victims gives cops a better chance of tracking down their alleged violators and finding out what really happened.

So here are their stories, in the order they were made public by police (starting with the most recent). We'll be updating this list with any new reports that come in, so check back.

• WANTED FOR: Forcible Touching
• Date: Tuesday, May 2, 2017
• Time: Around 4:49 p.m.
• Place: Southbound D train heading through Downtown Brooklyn
• Suspect: Hispanic male in his 20s; 5 feet, 6 inches tall; last seen wearing a gray T-shirt, blue jeans and a book bag
• Victim: 17-year-old female
• Report: An unidentified male approached the victim and touched her buttocks over her clothing.

• WANTED FOR: Forcible Touching
• Date: Friday May 5, 2017
• Time: Around 3:30 p.m.
• Place: Southbound 6 train heading from 68th Street to 59th Street on the Upper East Side
• Suspect: Black male around 30 years old; 6 feet tall; around 230 pounds; last seen wearing a black golf hat, a black hoodie and dark-colored pants
• Victim: 12 year-old female
• Report: The victim was on board train when an unidentified individual grabbed her buttocks before exiting the train at the 59th Street station.

• Date: Saturday, March 25, 2017
• Time: 10:31 a.m.
• Place: Northbound G train platform of the Metropolitan Avenue and Lorimer Street station in Williamsburg
• Suspect: Hispanic male around 18 years old; light complexion; last seen wearing a black hoodie, blue jeans and white Adidas sneakers.
• Victim: 27-year old female
• Report: The victim was walking down the platform when she observed the individual urinating behind a garbage can. The victim was walking away when the individual ran up behind her and slapped her on the buttocks. The individual fled on foot toward the G train.

• Time: Around 2 p.m.
• Place: Southbound 7 train approaching the Court Square station in Queens
• Suspect: Black male in his mid 20s; around 5 feet, 7 inches tall; 150 pounds; last seen wearing all black with black patent leather shoes
• Victim: 22-year-old female
• Report: The victim was onboard the train when she observed an unidentified individual masturbating. The victim took a photograph of the individual before he exited the train at the 5th Avenue/Bryant Park station.

• Date: Friday, April 28, 2017
• Time: 8:20 a.m.
• Place: Downtown C train heading through Midtown
• Suspect: Black male around 55 years old; 6 feet, 2 inches tall; 215 pounds; partially bald with a medium complexion; last seen wearing a black coat and an orange polo shirt.
• Victim: 49-year old female
• Report: The victim was aboard the train when the individual boarded at the 8th Avenue and 59th Street station. The individual continuously rubbed the victim's buttocks from 59th Street to 50th Street and exited the train at the 23rd Street stop.

• Time: 10:05 p.m.
• Place: Southbound R train at the Rego Park station in Queens
• Suspect: Hispanic male in his 60s; mustache; last seen wearing a black watch cap, a tan jacket and blue pants
• Victim: 32-year-old female
• Report: The victim was aboard the train when an unidentified male exposed his penis and manipulated it in front of her.

• Date: Friday, April 14, 2017
• Time: Around 5:30 a.m.
• Place: Southbound 6 train platform of the 77th Street station on the Upper East Side
• Suspect: Hispanic male around 30 years old; 5 feet, 6 inches tall; 175 pounds; black hair with a tan complexion; last seen wearing a light blue shirt and a black jacket
• Victim: 57-year-old female
• Report: The victim was approached by an unidentified male on the platform, where he grabbed her buttocks and fled in an unknown direction.

• Date: Wednesday, March 29, 2017
• Time: 3:05 a.m.
• Place: Southbound J train between the Myrtle Avenue station in Bushwick and the Delancey Street station on the Lower East Side
• Suspect: Black male between 30 and 40 years old; 6 feet, 2 inches tall; 250 to 300 pounds; last seen wearing a red jacket, navy blue pants and a baseball hat.
• Victim: 34-year-old female
• Report: The victim was aboard the train as it was leaving the Myrtle Avenue station, when an unidentified individual sat across from her and began to rub his exposed groin while staring at the victim. The individual exited the train at the Delancey Street station.

• Time: 8 p.m.
• Place: Manhattan-bound R train at the 14th Street/Union Square station
• Suspect: White male between 60 and 70 years old; 5 feet, 4 inches tall; eyeglasses; last seen carrying a black tote bag and wearing a blue baseball cap, a black jacket over a blue collared shirt, black pants and black shoes
• Victim: 34-year-old female
• Report: An unidentified male manipulated his private parts in front of the victim. The victim detrained at the 14th Street/Union Square station while the unidentified male remained aboard.

• First incident date: Sunday, Sept. 25, 2016
• Time: 6:45 p.m.
• Place: Southbound 6 train heading toward the 34th Street station in Midtown
• Suspect: Black male around 40 years old; dark complexion and slim build; 6 feet tall; last seen wearing a green sweater, black shorts, a beige hat and sunglasses
• Victim: 31-year-old female
• Report: The victim was on the train when the individual sitting across from her exposed his groin. The individual then exited the train at the Lexington Avenue and East 68th Street stop.

• Second incident date: Tuesday January 31, 2017
• Time: Around 9:55 p.m.
• Place: Brooklyn-bound L train at the Atlantic Avenue stop in Brownsville
• Suspect: Black male between 45 and 55 years old; 6 feet, 1 inch tall; last seen carrying a large backpack and wearing sunglasses, a dark-colored coat, black pants, black boots, a gray knit cap and a multi-colored scarf around his neck
• Victim: 30 year-old female
• Report: The individual sat across from the victim, exposed his genitals and masturbated.

• Date: Wednesday, March 8, 2017
• Time: 7:45 p.m.
• Place: Manhattan-bound 7 train at the 111th Street station in Queens
• Suspect: White-Hispanic male; 5 feet, 5 inches; 175 pounds; short, black hair; last seen wearing a black jacket and gray jeans
• Victim: 38-year-old female
• Report: An unidentified male exposed his erect penis and masturbated in front of the victim, who was seated on the opposite side of the train car. The unidentified male moved to a different train car upon arrival at the 103ed Street-Corona Plaza station and then fled to parts unknown. The victim remained aboard the train, and the incident was reported at a later time.

• Date: Wednesday, March 1, 2017
• Time: Around 4:30 p.m.
• Place: Southbound 1 train platform at the 145th Street station in Harlem
• Suspect: Hispanic male around 45 years old; 5 feet, 5 inches tall; 130 pounds; clean shaven with grayish black hair; last seen playing a dark-colored guitar slung across his chest and wearing a dark jacket, blue jeans, dark shoes, a light blue shirt and a blue tie
• Victim: 31-year-old female
• Report: The victim was walking on the platform when she was approached by an individual who asked for directions in Spanish. The victim soon after realized that the individual was using his hands to touch his exposed private parts at which time she ran away from the individual in an attempt to seek aid. The individual fled the station on a southbound 1 train to parts unknown.

• First incident date: Monday, Feb. 6, 2017
• Time: 8:20 a.m.
• Place: Fulton Street station in Lower Manhattan
• Suspect: Black male around 25 years old; 6 feet tall; 220 pounds
• Victim: 30-year-old female
• Report: On a flight of stairs leading to the street, an unidentified male approached the victim and grabbed her buttocks. He then fled westbound toward Broadway.

• Second incident date: Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2017
• Time: 8:25 a.m.
• Place: Manhattan-bound Z train heading to the Canal Street station in Lower Manhattan
• Suspect: Black male around 25 years old; 6 feet tall; 220 pounds
• Victim: 30-year-old female (same victim)
• Report: The unidentified male again approached the victim and grinded his groin against her buttocks. The male fled the subway car when the doors opened at Canal Street. The victim remained on board.

• Time: 8 p.m.
• Place: Southbound F train at the Jamaica/179th Street station in Queens
• Suspect: White-Hispanic male around 50 years old; 175 pounds; mustache; last seen wearing beige pants, black footwear, a black jacket over a green hooded sweatshirt and a black ski cap
• Victim: 26-year-old female
• Report: An unidentified male masturbated over his pants in front of the victim. The unidentified male fled the train at the 169th Street station.

• Place: Manhattan-bound N train at the 25th Street station in Midtown
• Suspect: Black male; 6 feet tall; 170 pounds; last seen holding a black book bag and wearing a dark hooded jacket, gray jeans, tan work boots
• Victim: 28-year-old female
• Report: The victim observed an unidentified male who exposed himself. The victim fled the train at the Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center station in Downtown Brooklyn; the unidentified male remained aboard the train.

• Time: 11 a.m.
• Place: Downtown D train platform at the 34th Street/Herald Square station
• Suspect: Black male between 25 and 35 years old; 5 feet, 10 inches tall; 180 pounds; black hair with a slim build; last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt
• Victim: 31-year-old female
• Report: An unidentified male grabbed the buttocks of the victim. The unidentified male fled the subway system to the street.

• Date: Monday, Oct. 24, 2016
• Time: 7:30 a.m.
• Place: 110th Street station off Central Park North in Harlem
• Suspect: No description
• Victim: 47-year-old female
• Report: The victim was entering the 2/3 train station when an unidentified male approached her from behind and grabbed her pelvic area. The male fled the subway system in unknown direction. The victim was not injured as a result of this incident.

• WANTED FOR: Public Lewdness
• Date: Monday, Sept. 12, 2016
• Time: Around 7:20 p.m.
• Place: Southbound R train heading to the 34th Street and 8th Avenue station in Midtown
• Suspect: Black male around 36 years old; 5 feet, 8 inches tall; 160 pounds, bald with brown eyes; last seen wearing a white T-shirt, blue jeans, tan boots and black backpack.
• Victim: 24-year-old female
• Report: The victim was aboard the train when an unidentified individual sitting across from her with a black knapsack on his lap was manipulating his private parts. The victim then took a picture of the male with her cellphone before exiting the train at Roosevelt Avenue station.

• WANTED FOR: Unlawful Surveillance
  
• Date: Monday, Aug. 8, 2016
• Time: 4:40 p.m.
• Place: Lorimer Street and Metropolitan Avenue station in Williamsburg
• Suspect: Black male in his late 20s; between 5 feet, 6 inches and 5 feet, 8 inches tall; 145 pounds; tattoos on both arms; last seen carrying a black backpack and wearing a dark-colored baseball cap, a white tank top and black shorts
• Victim: 32-year-old female
• Report: An unidentified male used his cellphone to take a photo/record video under the skirt of the victim as she walked up the stairs to the Manhattan-bound L train platform. The victim turned around when she felt the male's cellphone touch the back of her right leg. The unidentified male then fled down the stairs to the southbound L train platform and boarded a Canarsie/Rockaway Parkway-bound train. The victim was not physically injured.

• Report: The victim was on the train when the suspect boarded the train. The suspect sat down and began exposing himself to the passengers on the train. The victim was able to take photos of the suspect before she exited the train at the Rockefeller Plaza station. There were no reported injuries.

• Place: Northbound Q train platform at the Church Avenue station in Kensington, Brooklyn
• Suspect: Black male around 25 years old; 6 feet tall; 175 pounds; last seen carrying an Adidas duffel bag and wearing dark clothing
• Victim: 24-year-old female
• Report: The victim was standing on the platform waiting for the train when an unknown male approached her and grabbed her buttocks several times. The unknown male then fled.

• Place: Southbound F train platform at the Parsons Boulevard and Hillside Avenue station in Queens
• Suspect: Black male around 55 years old; 6 feet, 1 inch tall; 250 pounds; partially bald with gray hair; last seen wearing a green shirt, red sweatpants and blue jacket.
• Victim: 34-year-old female
• Report: The victim was sitting on a bench on the platform when a male individual approached her, pulled his pants down, exposed himself and stated to give him a dollar or perform oral sex on him. The victim backed away from the individual while the individual continue to follow her to the platform. The victim then ran up the stairs to the mezzanine area and the individual fled to parts unknown. There were no reported as a result of this incident.

• Place: Northbound Q train at the Prospect Park station in Prospect-Lefferts Gardens
• Suspect: Black male between 25 and 30 years old; afro; last seen wearing a black jacket with grey sleeves, grey jeans and black sneakers
• Victim: 54-year-old female
• Report: An unidentified male seated beside the victim reached over and rubbed his hand on her inner thigh. The unidentified male fell asleep and the victim took a photo of him before detraining at the 14th Street/Union Square station.

• Place: Southbound 3 train near the Henry Street and Clark Street station in Brooklyn Heights

• Report: The suspect, while on board the train, put his hand in his pants and manipulated his genitals. A witness was able to take photos.

• Place: Southbound S train approaching the Franklin Avenue station in Bed-Stuy
• Suspect: Black male around 40 years old; 5 feet, 4 inches tall; 150 pounds; short brown hair and brown eyes with a medium complexion; last seen carrying a black plastic bag and wearing a black hooded sweater and blue jeans
• Victim: 16-year-old female
• Report: A male suspect approached the victim and placed both of his arms around her and grabbed her breast causing her shirt to rip. The suspect then exited the train at the Botanic Garden station and fled to parts unknown. The victim did not sustain any injuries as a result of this incident.

• Time: 5 a.m.
• Place: Northbound D train at the Bedford Park Boulevard station in the Bronx
• Suspect: No description
• Victim: 22-year-old female
• Report: The victim, who had fallen asleep, awoke at the Bedford Park Boulevard station on the train and discovered an unknown male suspect touching her breasts. The victim pushed the suspect off and fled the subway car. She proceeded to the southbound platform and boarded a southbound D Train to safety.

• Date: Friday, Oct. 9, 2015
• Time: 8:30 a.m.
• Place: Southbound R train at the East 59th Street and Lexington Avenue station on the Upper East Side
• Suspect: Black male; beard; last seen wearing blue jeans, a plaid shirt, a blue and red vest and a black knit cap
• Victim: 27-year-old female
• Report: The victim observed a male suspect rubbing his exposed, erect penis. The victim took a photo of the suspect with her cellphone and subsequently disembarked the train safely.

• Date: Monday, Aug. 10, 2015
• Time: 5:30 p.m.
• Place: Southbound N train near the Atlantic Avenue/Pacific Street station in Downtown Brooklyn
• Suspect: No description
• Victim: 25-year-old female
• Report: The victim was sleeping on the train when the suspect began touching her buttocks. A witness to the incident woke the victim up and told her what had happened. The suspect fled the train at the Atlantic Avenue station. There were no reported injuries.

• WANTED FOR: Forcible Touching
• Date: Saturday, July 25, 2015
• Time: 5:27 p.m.
• Place: Northbound 1 train platform at the 96th Street station on the Upper East Side
• Suspect: Hispanic male around 28 years old; 5 feet, 7 inches tell; 140 pounds; last seen wearing long black dreadlocks in a bun, black sunglasses, a black tank top, camouflage shorts and black sneakers
• Victim: 18-year-old female
• Report: The victim was on the platform about to board the train, when a male suspect walked up behind her and grabbed her buttocks. The suspect then boarded the north bound #1 train at the 96th Street station. There were no reported injuries as a result of this incident.

• WANTED FOR: Forcible Touching
• Date: Wednesday, June 3, 3015
• Time: 8:15 a.m.
• Place: Northbound 2/5 line near the Winthrop Street station in Prospect-Lefferts Gardens
• Suspect: No description
• Victim: 15-year-old female
• Report: The victim was riding the train when the suspect rubbed her thigh and vaginal area. The victim then fled the train at the Borough Hall station in Downtown Brooklyn. There were no reported injuries.
