NYC Weather: 3 Inches Of Snow Could Hit City

NEW YORK CITY — A fresh blanket of snow is poised to drape over New York City.

The city is under a hazardous weather outlook as forecasters predict plunging temperatures and snow sticking — literally — into Thursday, according to the National Weather Service.
"Light rain changing to light snow, and temperatures dropping to near freezing Thursday morning could make for a slow and hazardous Thursday morning commute," the outlook states.

Up t0 3 inches of snow could fall Thursday, which carries a 90 percent chance of precipitation, the forecast states.
And it's not only snow that could fall — the precipitation could take the form of rain, according to the forecast.

"Rain and snow before 1pm, then a slight chance of snow between 1pm and 4pm," the forecast states. "Temperature falling to around 31 by 5pm."
