NEW YORK — An April nor'easter battering parts of the east coast with rain and high winds could bring some rain to New York City Tuesday night, forecasters say.
The worst of the storm will dodge the city but bring high winds and rain from the Carolinas through Massachusetts, according to AccuWeather.
After a clear and sunny Tuesday, New York City will see a 50 percent of rain after 9 p.m., the National Weather Service said.

The rest of the week's forecast looks clear until Friday afternoon with possible rain and snow, according to the National Weather Service.

Tuesday: Mostly sunny with a high near 51. Light southeast wind increasing from 9 to 14 miles per hour in the morning.
Tuesday night: A 50 percent chance of rain after 9 p.m. and cloudy with a low of 40. East winds 11 to 13 miles per hour becoming north winds after midnight.
Wednesday: Partly sunny and gradually becoming sunny with a high near 64. Breezy with west winds 8 to 13 miles per hour that will increase to 17 to 22 miles per hour by the afternoon. Wind gusts up to 32 miles per hour.
Wednesday night: Mostly clear with a low about 42. Breezy with west winds 17 to 22 miles per hour before dying down to 9 to 14 miles per hour afteer midnight.
Thursday: Mostly sunny with a high near 57. Southwest winds 9 to 16 miles per hour.
Thursday night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 36.
Friday: A chance of rain and snow between 1 and 3 p.m. with rain after 3 p.m. Partly sunny with a high near 47. 40 percent chance of precipitation.
