NEW YORK CITY — Hazardous snow squalls and roaring winds are predicted to hit New York City, forecasters said.

The squalls are expected to blow in with winds of up to 50 mph late Wednesday morning, and high gusts could last until midnight, the National Weather Service reported about 4:10 a.m.

Forecasters issued a hazardous weather alert, warning New Yorkers to expect for poor visibility on city streets.

"Tree limbs could be blown down," forecasters added. "Power outages may result."

Temperatures will hover in the 20s Wednesday and wind chill values will make it feel as low as 10 degrees Wednesday night, according to the National Weather service.

Thursday is predicted to be sunny with a high of 36 degrees but a wind chill value between 10 and 20, forecasters predict.
