NYC Weather: Looming Snow Storm Prompts Winter Weather Advisory

NEW YORK CITY — Forecasters doubled their snow predictions early Friday morning and now say New York City could be hit with up to 4 inches of snow.

The National Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory about 3:40 a.m. warning New Yorkers to expect heavy snow and slippery roads between 10 a.m. Saturday and 1 a.m. Sunday.

Between 2 and 4 inches of snow could fall in Manhattan and The Bronx as temperatures hover in the mid-30s with a wind chill value between 15 and 25 degrees, forecasters said.

Brooklyn, Queens and Staten Island are predicted to get between 1 and 2 inches of snow, said forecasters.

A blistering cold Friday will precede the snow storm with temperatures in the 20s, a wind chill value between 10 and 20 degrees and gust blowing up to 18 mph, said forecasters.
