NYC Weather: Rain To Worsen As Thunderstorms Roll In
The wet start to Monday will give way to a deluge of up to 2 inches of rain, forecasters said.

NEW YORK CITY – A wet Monday morning is set to worsen, with thunderstorms moving into the city after midday and dropping more than 2 inches of rain.
Wind gusts could reach nearly 40 mph as the bad weather moves through the region, the National Weather Service said.
The thunderstorms could continue until midnight, with showers possible through Tuesday. Sunshine is forecast to return Wednesday.

Monday
Showers before noon, then rain and possibly a thunderstorm after noon. Some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall. High near 62. Breezy, with a south wind 13 to 23 mph, with gusts as high as 39 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New rainfall amounts between 1 and 2 inches possible.

Monday Night
Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm before midnight, then a slight chance of showers between midnight and 3am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 50. South wind 7 to 16 mph, with gusts as high as 28 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
Tuesday
A 40 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a temperature falling to around 46 by 5pm. Southwest wind 8 to 13 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.
Tuesday Night
Partly cloudy, with a low around 36. Southwest wind 11 to 13 mph.
Wednesday
Mostly sunny, with a high near 43. West wind around 11 mph.
