NYC Weather: Snow Falls In May
It snowed in New York City Saturday, and Islip, Long Island, saw a snowier May than February, according to the National Weather Service.

NEW YORK CITY — Rough winds do shake the darling buds of May, but do those winds have to be quite so cold and must it snow? Apparently, yes.
New York City saw traces of snow early Saturday morning in climate sites at Central Park and La Guardia and John F. Kennedy airports, according to the National Weather Service.
The National Weather Service issued a freeze alert for New York Count from midnight Saturday to 9 a.m. Sunday, when weather could drop to 30 degrees.

A climate site in Islip, also saw snow, which meant the Long Island town had a snowier May than February, forecasters said.

This unseasonably cold weather comes as the MTA shuts down overnight subway service, forcing the agency to house homeless New Yorkers in parked buses so that they would have someplace warm to sleep.
The weather is predicted to stay brisk next week with daytime temperatures hovering in the 50s and nighttime temperatures in the 40s, forecasts show.
New York City won't see temperatures in the 70s until Friday, according to the National Weather Service.
