NEW YORK CITY — A storm barreling toward New York will dump ice, snow and sleet on city streets Monday night, forecasters warn.

The city could get two inches of snow and a one fifth an inch of ice from a storm expected to hover from 6 p.m. Monday to 6 a.m. Tuesday, according to a National Weather Service hazardous weather alert.

Tuesday could bring freezing rain that will make for hazardously slippery streets during New Yorkers' commutes, forecasters warned.
