NEW YORK CITY — An icy morning and the chance of multiple snow squalls have spurred National Weather Service forecasters to issue a hazardous weather outlook for New York City.

Snow squalls could bring high winds, a layer of snow and reduced visibility as New Yorkers commute home Wednesday evening, forecasters said.

And below freezing temperatures Wednesday morning could leave patches of ice on New York City streets through the morning commute.
