NYC Weather: Thunderstorms, Hail About To Join High Winds In City

NEW YORK CITY – Forecasters issued an alert Friday afternoon as strong winds are expected to be joined by thunderstorms and pea-sized hail in NYC.
New York City's official notification system sent the alert shortly before 3 p.m. It said southern Queens, Brooklyn and Staten Island will be worst affected.
.@NWSNewYorkNY has issued a Special Weather Statement for Southern Queens, Staten Island, and Brooklyn for a strong thunderstorm. Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph and pea size hail are possible with this storm.

The National Weather Service has the city under a hazardous weather outlook until 6 a.m. Saturday as wind gusts reach 55 mph.
