NYC Weather: Winter Storm Could Dump More Than A Foot Of Snow
Heavy snow is becoming increasingly likely.

NEW YORK CITY – A major winter storm approaching New York City could hit with more than a foot of snow, forecasters said.
In a forecast discussion Sunday night, forecasters at the National Weather Service's New York office said "confidence in significant snowfall amounts over 6 inches continues to increase."
The service's latest forecast predicts up to 2 inches will fall during the day Wednesday, but the storm will really pummel the city during the night when up to 12 inches is expected to accumulate.

Wind gusts up to 45 mph late Wednesday and early Thursday will cause "considerable blowing and drifting of snow and at least near-blizzard conditions," the weather service says.
