NEW YORK, NY — NYPD officers came to the rescue of a bird in distress Wednesday, plucking up an injured Central Park American robin and taking it to get help.
The officers from the NYPD's bike unit found the creature after being alerted by a park goer. They wrapped the robin, which was a juvenile, in a shirt and brought it to the Wild Bird Fund for rehabilitation, according to a tweet posted from the NYPD News account.
