NEW YORK, NY — Grape is a silly, playful catnip fiend and he might be your new best friend.

The 8-year-old is this week's Patch pet of the week, a regular feature aimed at helping the Animal Care Centers of NYC find homes for dogs, cats and rabbits.

Photos show the star of this week's edition is a lover and a fighter.

Grape is a "playful guy, young and handsome," according to the videographer who captured an epic battle between him and his toy.

Grape weighs about 9.6 pounds and has been with the Manhattan branch of the ACC since June 30th, his profile shows.

All animals up for adoption at the ACC are microchipped, vaccinated, and spayed or neutered.
