NEW YORK – Kato is a 5-year-old bunny currently hanging out with the Animal Care Centers of NYC – and he's hoping a Patch reader wants to take him home.

The 5-pound black-and-white rabbit has been at the Manhattan shelter since June and he's Patch's Pet of the Week. The regular features aims to help find homes for abandoned dogs, cats and rabbits.

The ACC is a New York-based organization with the mission of finding forever homes for the pets.

A volunteer writes: "Kato's name is of Latin origin and means 'all-knowing.' Our Kato certainly lives up to it, knowing so much about food, binkies, cuddles, games, looking pretty.

"Kato is a calm bunny who likes chilling in cozy places, prefers eating hay over greens (not a bad thing), and enjoys gentle interaction with humans."
