NEW YORK – Peewee is a well-mannered senior looking for a place to call home.

The 8-year-old pooch has been hanging out at the Manhattan shelter of the Animal Care Centers of New York, and he's Patch's Pet of the Week. The regular feature aims to help find homes for abandoned dogs, cats and rabbits.

The ACC is a New York-based organization with the mission of finding forever homes for the pets.

A volunteer writes: "Simply majestic, Peewee is the kind of dog that inspires awe at the first glance. But wait, spend some time with him and you'll find an amazingly, incredibly goofy guy whose endearing qualities know no bounds.

"A perfect gentleman on the leash, his excellent manners extend to remaining dignified when offered yummy roast beef which he simply can't resist! He's not the type that will crowd you off the couch. Even when playful, he doesn't mind sharing.

"What Peewee would cherish most now is a new family to love and provide him care. Could that person be you?"
