Person Falls On Midtown Subway Tracks, MTA Says
A straphanger fell on the East 59th Street station in midtown Tuesday morning, delaying 4 and 5 trains, the MTA said.
NEW YORK CITY — A person fell onto the subway tracks in midtown Tuesday morning, causing delays as police rushed to the rescue, according to the MTA.
The person fell onto the express tracks at the East 59th Street and Lexington Avenue 4, 5, and 6 train station about 7:35 a.m., officials said.
The FDNY was not immediately available to comment.

Southbound 4 and 5 trains were temporarily rerouted to the local line between 125th Street and 42nd Street-Grand Central, said the MTA.
Normal service had resumed by 8:10 a.m. but the MTA warned straphangers to expect considerable congestion during their commutes.
