BROOKLYN, NEW YORK – Brooklyn is lit this holiday season. The neighborhood of Dyker Heights has become the hottest spot for viewing the best Christmas lights and decorations in the state of New York, drawing hordes of seasonal sight-seers as residents put incredible effort into dressing up their homes.

Locals and tourists travel from near and far, with up to 150.000 visitors heading to the neighborhood every Christmas season.

This is the first crazily decorated house I see on my stroll. I post a photo on Instagram and I get an immediate reaction from friends all over the world:

And the scene is getting a lot crazier in this area. The streets are packed with visitors, tourists and neighbors who are enjoying the displays and taking a lot of photos, of course.

The traffic in this usually sleepy neighborhood is stop and go tonight on every street, and the police are stationed at every crossing to bring order into the crowd.
