Polo Hamptons Match & Event 2019 With Christie Brinkley: PHOTOS

An illustrious crowd attended the ‘Polo Hamptons Match & Cocktail Party’ in Bridgehampton this weekend. The event was hosted by Christie Brinkley, who also appears on July's Social Life magazine cover. Over 500 guests enjoyed a thrilling polo match, an open bar, hors oeuvres and music on a beautifully sunny Saturday afternoon.

"The Hamptons are so fabulous!" I text my friend upon arrival in Bridgehampton. It's been a while since I last took on the schlepp to the very east end of Long Island. It's a special place for sure. The big extravagant houses sitting in lush green forests, the meticulously manicured gardens, the expensive cars and the white and navy blue dress code everybody is wearing. Everything is grand, beautiful and curated. I'm right in the middle of a Tommy Hilfiger dream. And it's so clean here. I wonder if someone is scrubbing the streets at night. Well, I wouldn't be surprised, because there is nothing that ever seems to be too much in the Hamptons.

4:02 p.m.
I walk towards the tents and with every step, I feel more beautiful, confident and yes, entitled. Because that's what this place does to you. And to be honest, I don't even mind.
After traveling for about 4.5 hours in various, overcrowded trains all morning and with a more annoying trip back home tonight, I earned this. The Hamptons are further away than Europe, (I might be exaggerating here), and I wonder if the journey in getting to this wondrous place is designed on purpose to keep the ordinary out. It's a natural gatekeeping system. With hotel prices starting at $650 a night and $1200 (one way, one seat!) helicopter rides for the rich, it's impossible for me to stay here.

"In my next life, I'll open a bed and breakfast in Southhampton and make millions!" I say to one of the photographers.

Wow, it's a family style!

4:15 p.m.
I spot a familiar face, one of the reporters who also works the entertainment beat. He looks like he fell into a swimming pool.
"I'm about to pass out," he says to me. "It's so, so hot."
"I feel you," I say.
And then he disappears into the VIP area where I can't get in. No matter how VIP, there is always an even more exclusive VIP area.

Remember, always wear wedges to a Polo match! You don't want to sink in with your heels! These two are doing it right.

"She looks amazing!" someone says. "Not a day older than 31! It's unbelievable!"
