NEW YORK CITY — New Yorkers have come a long way since the days that a trip to the grocery store seemed more daunting than an overseas flight.

Here's a breakdown:
Open for travel
Only a relative handful of countries are accepting U.S. travelers.
But before would-be travelers book a ticket, it might be a good idea to check the State Department's travel advisories here.
That's because the State Department has designated some of those open countries as "Level 4: Do Not Travel" amid the continuing COVID-19 pandemic.
Those include many tropical getaways like the Bahamas, Barbados, Bermuda, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic and Jamaica.
