Rumson School Calendar 2017-18: First Day Of School, Vacations, Conferences

The first day of school in Rumson is September 7. Feel free to mark it on your calendar as one of the most dreaded days of the year for students and teachers — and feel free not to feel guilty about marking it as one of your favorites. The Rumson School District has released its 2017-2018 calendar for public schools.

The calendar includes important dates such as winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays, early dismissals and parent-teacher conferences.

Here is the full list of dates to know for this school year:

• 9/7: First Day of School, 1:00 pm Dismissal, Staff PM PD
• 9/21-22: Rosh Hashanah - No School

October

• 10/9: Schools Closed for Students, Staff PD Day

November

• 11/9-10: Schools Closed, NJEA Convention
• 11/22: 1:00pm Dismissal
• 11/23-24: Thanksgiving Recess - No School
• 11/27-28: PM P/T Conferences, 1:00pm Dismissal
• 11/29-30: Night Conferences, 1:00pm Dismissal, Staff PM PD

December

• 12/1: PM P/T Conferences, 1:00pm Dismissal
• 12/22: 1:00pm Dismissal
• 12/25-29: Holiday Recess - No School

January

• 1/1: Holiday Recess - No School
• 1/15: Martin Luther King Jr. Day - No School

February

Snow Day Information

• If one snow day is used, school will be closed on June 20th
• If no snow days are used, school will be closed on June 20th and May 25th
• In the event we have used our snow days and we need to add additional snow days, days
  will be added to the end of the year and result in calendar/graduation modifications.
