NEW YORK CITY — Scaffolding Santa is comin' to town. A guy in a fluffy white beard and fur-lined red suit climbed Flatiron Building scaffolding Monday to wave at the people in Madison Square Park below, video shows.

The limber-limbed St. Nick pulled himself onto the green scaffolding on East 23rd Street and Fifth Avenue about 1:30 p.m., according to Citizen App video.

"Man in a Santa suit on top of scaffolding, waving at passersby and spreading holiday cheer," Citizen reported.

"It's unclear whether the man had permission to be on top of the scaffolding or if he is trespassing."

According to the New York Post, police did not have a record of the incident, which means perhaps this grinchy suggestion was not taken:
