School Bus Driver Arrested After 10-Year-Old's Death, Cops Say
Patience Albert, 10, died after she was struck by a school bus in Brooklyn, police said. Now driver Pedro Colon, 61, faces criminal charges.

BROOKLYN, NEW YORK — Police arrested the school bus driver who struck and killed a 10-year-old girl in Brooklyn Tuesday morning.
Pedro Colon, 61, faces criminal charges after his bus hit Patience Albert, 10, and a 15-year-old boy on the corner of Wortman Avenue and Crescent Street, police announced Monday night.
The 15-year-old was treated for a leg injury at Brookdale Hospital, said police.

Colon, of Liberty Park in Queens, remained at the scene and now faces two counts of failure to exercise due care and two counts of failure to yield, police said.
The New York Post identified the 15-year-old as Patience's brother Merzae.

“We fought sometimes but I loved her and I just wish she was still here,” he reportedly said. “Any other brother and sisters out there, protect your sister and be careful."
