See It: Eric Adams Gets Ear Pierced After Mayoral Primary Win

On the campaign trail, a young person asked Adams to pierce his ear if he won the Democratic mayoral primary: "Promise made, promise kept!"

NEW YORK CITY — Eric Adams' jubilant victory lap brought him to a piercing studio to fulfill a campaign promise.

Yes, the man who could be New York City's next mayor, got his ear pierced Wednesday.

The political piercing fulfilled a promise made to a young New Yorker who said he'd trust Adams if he'd pierce his ear when he won the Democratic mayoral primary, Adams said in a video and tweet.

"Already lived up to my first promise, to that young man," he said on the video. "So, if you see it on social media, young man, I told you I was going do it and I just did what I promised."

"Promise made, promise kept!" he tweeted.

Adams's piercing garnered a positive review from the man he hopes to replace at Gracie Mansion.

"I think it’s great he did that, I think it’s fun,” Mayor Bill de Blasio said.

De Blasio, when asked if he'd fulfill any similar promises to constituents, drew the line at a septum piercing.

Not everyone on Twitter was a fan of Adams' piercing, or at least the method.
