SNL Cast Member Gets Hillary Clinton Leg Tattoo

Hillary Clinton saw a photo of the tattoo and said she was "honored" by the gesture.

NEW YORK, NY — Comedian and “Saturday Night Live” cast member Pete Davidson unveiled a tribute to his political hero Saturday: a leg tattoo that depicts former secretary of state Hillary Clinton.

“Wanted to get @hillaryclinton a Christmas gift so I got a tattoo of my hero,” Davidson wrote on Instagram below a photo of his new ink. “Thanks for being such a badass and one of the strongest people in the universe.”

The post picked up momentum online over the weekend and had been liked nearly 50,000 times by Monday morning.

Clinton herself saw the post and commented on it.

“Thanks, @petedavidson. This makes it significantly less awkward that I’ve had a Pete Davidson tattoo for years,” Clinton wrote on Davidson’s Instagram post. “But seriously, I’m honored. Merry Christmas my friend.”

A spokesperson for the former Democratic presidential nominee told The Washington Post that Clinton saw the photo while she was on a flight from California to New York. “While she is fond Pete Davidson, she has no tattoos of him … yet,” Clinton spokesman Nick Merrill told the Post.

In his Instagram post, Davidson also credited tattoo artist Jon Mesa, who posted his own photo of the work on his account. “Got to do this mini portrait of a young @hillaryclinton on @petedavidson from SNL last night,” wrote Mesa, who is co-owner of No Idols Tattoo in Manhattan’s Lower East Side. “So excited that she actually got to see the tattoo and commented on it on Pete’s page.”
