Snow In NYC Forecast For First Time This Season

It will be accompanied by temperatures that could feel like 25 degrees.

NEW YORK CITY – The first snow of the season is set to fall this week, sprinkling New York City Tuesday night as temperatures dip to freezing.

The National Weather Service is predicting rain showers throughout the day, turning to snow after 8 p.m. and lasting until midnight.

Temperatures will get down to 32, though with the wind chill factor they could feel like 25 – the coldest since last winter. Sunshine will return Wednesday.

The Old Farmer's Almanac has predicted that the Northeast will see greater snowfall than normal this winter.

Sunny, with a high near 49. West wind 9 to 16 mph, with gusts as high as 26 mph.

Increasing clouds, with a low around 38. West wind 8 to 11 mph.

Tuesday
A 20 percent chance of showers after 9am. Partly sunny, with a high near 47. West wind 8 to 13 mph.

Tuesday Night
A slight chance of rain and snow showers before 8pm, then a slight chance of snow showers between 8pm and midnight. Mostly clear, with a low around 32. Wind chill values between 25 and 30. Northwest wind 11 to 13 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Wednesday
Sunny, with a high near 40. Northwest wind 11 to 13 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.

Wednesday Night
Mostly clear, with a low around 30.

Thursday
Mostly sunny, with a high near 47.
