Soho Film Festival: Pierce Brosnan Promotes 'Poisoning Paradise'
Pierce Brosnan and wife Keely Shaye Smith promote their new documentary 'Poisoning Paradise' at the 2018 Soho International Film Festival.

Pierce Brosnan and wife Keely Shaye Smith attended the Soho International Film Festival last night to promote the new documentary 'Poisoning Paradise,' which they both produced and directed.
The film details the ongoing struggle in the seemingly idyllic world of Native Hawaiians, where communities are surrounded by experimental test sites and pesticides sprayed upwind of their neighborhoods. Take a look below at Daniela Kirsch's exclusive red carpet coverage!
8:00 p.m.
The photographers are lined up. I have a good spot right in the middle front row. Noone from the big photo agencies is here. I will be the only one distributing photos from this event to the world.
On my right stands the house photographer, he runs the show. On my left is another house photographer, then there are about ten independent shooters and some students. Half of them don't use flash. It means even less competition.
"Listen up, guys," the house photographer says. "I don't want any chaos when Pierce arrives. No screaming, no pushing. Everybody will get their shot! If you do not get your shot, let me know, and we will arrange it for you." he says.

8:10 p.m.
There he is. Pierce Brosnan walks on the red carpet and looks right at me.
"We don't need a name sign for Pierce," I say to the PR girls,"We know who he is!"

8:11 p.m.
His wife Keely Shaye Smith is here, too.
"Mr. Bond, can I get a smile?" says the photographer next to me.

8:12 p.m,
Pierce is very charming, relaxed and all Irish gentleman.
For the next few seconds, he smiles into my lens. This is perfect. I snap away. He is a professional on the red carpet, and that makes it easy for me.

8:13 p.m.
Sibyl Santiago, the director of the Soho International Film Festival, hops on the red carpet.
"Take off your badge," I say to her, and it becomes a group activity to get rid of it.

8:14 p.m.
"What are you guys doing?" Sibyl asks.
"We are holding hands!" Pierce says.

8:15 p.m.
One more photo of Keely and Pierce in front of the poster.

8:18 p.m.
I turn off my flash and shoot this beautiful photo of Pierce with available light. It might easily be one of the best portraits I ever took on a red carpet.

8:23 p.m.
On the way out, fans gather around Pierce trying to take selfies and get autographs. Some of the photographers fall back into paparazzi behavior and push for more photos. I decide to call it a day. Thank you, Remington Steele!
