“Ever seen a fist fight or the police called to a p.o?" asked Patch reader Deliwe Kekana, who frequents the Shirley A. Chisholm post office in Bed-Stuy. "I have. TWICE. And no it wasn't between customers. It’s the workers behind the desk."

“If Dante created a tenth level of Hell....this post office would be it," wrote Brad Wine of a post office in Bushwick. "I break out in cold sweats and have nightmares if I know have to do any business there."
Patch decided to take this information and condense it into a map, shown below, of every "worst" post office along with reasons why.
Brooklyn took the prize for the most complaints and the most “worst” post offices with almost 40 Patch readers calling out 14 USPS outposts across the borough. Manhattan was runner up with 11 worst stations nominated by 16 Patch readers.
Predominant trends in your comments included comparisons to hell, hell gates, infernos, and the speed of molasses.
Among the top complaints were missing packages, boxes that were tampered with, lost or destroyed and long waits in line and interactions than less than polite USPS employees.
“I have literally been sitting right outside when they start tossing our boxes over the gate which is an 8 ft drop,” wrote Katie Cook of Brooklyn.
“This past holiday any first-class mail delivered to us with a handwritten address was opened and emptied of cash,” wrote Mikki, also of Brooklyn.
Stephen Stallings, of Manhattan, noted that his local mail carriers put lives in danger by parking in front of stop signs and fire hydrants. His attempt to warn one delivery driver was unsuccessful
"I work for the post office," the USPS worker told Stallings. "I can park wherever I want."
But one Brooklyn man’s experience stood out among the rest for the horrific conditions detailed in his nomination of a Clinton Hill post office.
“The complimentary coffee and cookie table is always out of almond milk,” wrote Patch commenter 'yougetmequestionmark.' "And you have to pour your own cup.
"Dreadful.”
