Trucks Fatally Hit 3 Pedestrians In New York City, Police Say
Two men and a woman were mowed down by trucks in Manhattan and Brooklyn in less than 24 hours, police said Friday.
NEW YORK CITY — Trucks plowed down and killed three pedestrians in New York City streets in less than 24 hours, officials said.
Three crashes in Midtown, Soho and Sunset Park Friday morning and Thursday afternoon claimed the lives of 85-year-old Brendan Gill, an unidentified 26-year-old woman and a man, police said.
The unidentified man was hit by a private garbage truck while jaywalking on West 49th Street and 10th Avenue — just three blocks from where falling terra cotta killed Erica Tishman Tuesday — about 4:45 a.m. Friday, police said.

The 26-year-old was hit by a box truck backing up as she tried to cross Broadway at Howard Street just before 5 p.m. Thursday, police said.
And Gill was killed when a box truck slammed into him as he crossed Third Avenue at 39th Street just after 3:30 p.m., said police.

Another pedestrian — 67-year-old Zhisheng Lin — died Thursday after he was hit the day before by a Volkswagen Jetta on Sanford Street in Queens, police said.
