Wendy Williams Attends #SupportYourGirlfriends Pow(H)er Awards

On Tuesday night a party-ready crowd joined Wendy Williams at the 2nd Annual #SupportYourGirlfriends Pow(H)er Awards Dinner to celebrate highly-accomplished, innovative women for their achievements in their respective careers.
The event took place Clyde Frazier's Wine and Dine restaurant and started with an award ceremony, followed by a seated dinner and a dance party with DJ Teal.
Wendy Williams, Soledad O'Brien, Tamika Mallory, Tina Davis, Psyche Terry and Miss Diddy received the '2018 Unapologetically Her Award'.
6:30 p.m.
I arrive at Clyde Frazier's Wine and Dine restaurant. A lot of press is already here, setting up video cameras and getting ready to interview guests.

7:29 p.m.
Celebrity entertainment host Donna Briggs.

8:04 p.m.
Tina Davis and a friend. Davis is currently the VP of A&R at EMPIRE Distribution and Records and the Creator and Executive Producer of BET music competition Show The Next Big Thing. She will receive one of the awards tonight.

8:22 p.m.
Social justice activist Tamika Mallory.
In 2017, Tamika gained recognition as one of four co-chairs for the Women’s March on Washington.

8:45 p.m.
Nikkia Tené McClain is the organizer of the event.

8:46 p.m.
A gorgeous friend of Nikkia takes photos of her.

8:55 p.m.

9:04 p.m.
Wendy Williams arrives and lets me take her photo. She brought her husband and her daughter. They are not up for pictures tonight, and I respect that.

9:18 p.m.
Psyche Terry is all smiles.

9:29 p.m.
Tamika Mallory says: "If people ask me tonight: What is so special about this event?", she pauses and then goes on: "I have received many awards for my work, but the ones that come from people who look like you, from your sisters, from your friends are most important to me!"

9:34 p.m.
Wendy gets on stage and receives her award. She says:" I'm a simple woman with a fantastic legacy and I appreciate you believing in me and supporting me!"

9:55 p.m.
And now it's party time. DJ Teal turns up the music.
