BROOKLYN, NEW YORK — An MTA bus fatally ran over a passenger moments after she kicked at the doors and demanded to be let off, according to officials and a source.

The woman was caught underneath the rear tires of a B41 bus on Flatbush and Flatlands avenues just after 9 a.m., according to police and the MTA.

Moments before her death, the woman kicked the bus's doors as the driver pulled over to let her out, according to a source.

The woman then fell, hit a pole on the street and fell under the wheels, the source said.

Emergency responders pronounced her dead at the scene, police said.

MTA officials released a statement Thursday confirming the woman's death but declining to comment further.

“The death of a woman who was struck by bus #4236 operating on the B41 route this morning is tragic," said Craig Cipriano, Acting President of MTA Bus Company.

"NYC Transit and NYPD investigations into what happened, how, and why are in the early stages, so any conclusions as to cause would be inappropriately speculative at this time.”
