1 Killed, 1 Seriously Injured In New Hyde Park Crash
Police say two people crashed into a utility pole Friday morning.
NEW HYDE PARK, NY — One person was killed and another seriously injured in a car crash in New Hyde Park Friday morning.
According to Nassau County police, a 2008 Chevy Impala was heading east on Hillside Avenue at 9:15 a.m. when it left the road and struck multiple utility poles, coming to a stop in front of Temple Tikvah, located at 3315 Hillside Ave.
The driver, a 75-year-old man from Bellerose, was pronounced dead at the scene. The passenger, a 76-year-old man, was taken to a hospital in serious condition. Police did not release the names of either man.

Police say there is no apparent criminality in the crash, but an investigation is ongoing.
