Obituary: Dr. Frank Roberto, 47, of Wantagh

The Wantagh resident was a beloved doctor at New Hyde Park Pediatrics.

Dr. Frank Roberto, a beloved pediatrician at New Hyde Park Pediatrics, died Tuesday at age 47.

Roberto, of Wantagh, was a Board Certified Pediatrician and first started practicing medicine in July 1996. According to the New Hyde Park Pediatrics website, Roberto completed his internship and residency in pediatrics at North Shore University Hospital at Manhasset in 1999. In 2003, he established New Hyde Park Pediatrics.

Roberto was one of two doctors at New Hyde Park Pediatrics, located on 1575 Hillside Ave., where he provided healthcare to many children in the area, including the children of Lori Hudson.

Hudson told Patch that Roberto was so much more than a doctor to her family. "He went over and beyond no matter what time it was for my children for the last eight years," she told Patch in a Facebook message. "We are heartbroken. My thoughts and prayers to his family and staff. He will truly be missed by us and this."

Roberto was a fellow of The American Academy of Pediatrics, a member of Nassau County Pediatric Society and the Director of Health Services for The New Hyde Park – Garden City Park School District.

He is the beloved husband of Kimberly, loving son of Mike and Maria Roberto, cherished brother of Angela (Joseph) DeVincentis and adored uncle of Brianna, Julia and Matthew.

Roberto will be dearly missed by his many family members and friends.

Family will receive friends Saturday 5 to 8 p.m., as well as Sunday 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Charles J. O’Shea Funeral Home, located at 603 Wantagh Ave. in Wantagh.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday at 10 am, at St. Frances de Chantal R.C. Church, located at 1309 Wantagh Ave. in Wantagh. Entombment to follow at Holy Rood Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
