Coronavirus Planning: No School At New Hyde Park Schools Monday

In order to plan for a possible extended closing, New Hyde Park officials closed school for students on Monday.

NEW HYDE PARK, NY — The New Hyde Park-Garden City Park School District is closing Monday for a Superintendent's Conference Day, according to a message from Superintendent Jennifer Morrison. The day is designed to plan for a potential extended closure of schools in the case of a local coronavirus case.

"At this time, we have no plans to close school for an extended period of time. However, it is in everyone’s best interest to be prepared," Morrison said.

There are no confirmed cases of the coronavirus in the district, but officials are being updated by the Nassau County Health Department regarding closure.
