Discounts Available At NHP Farmers Market For Select Residents

Several Farmers Markets across Nassau County, including New Hyde Park, are participating in a program that offers discounts to residents ages 60 and over.

Residents can receive a coupon book, worth $20, to purchase fresh fruits and vegetables at a local farmers market. The coupons are provided through the New York State Farmers Market Nutrition Program.

Farmers markets are places where local farmers sell seasonal, locally grown and fresh-picked produce directly to residents for reasonable prices.

These coupons (limit once per person, per year) will be available at no cost after July 17 at convenient locations throughout Nassau County. For details, call the Nassau County Office for the Aging at (516) 227-8919.
