Fred Brent passed away on Feb. 2, 2013.
He was the husband of the late Joan, father of Thomas (Marianne), Patricia (Don), Debra (Eileen) and Robert (Joyce); grandfather of Jennifer, Thomas, Meghan, Thomas, Kristin, Kelly, Michael, Shannon and Aishling.
Brent was a 33-year veteran of the FDNY, a World War II survivor of the Leopoldville disaster.

A wake will be held at the Thomas F. Dalton Funeral HomeNew Hyde Park (at city line) on Feb. 4 and 5 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. A funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 6 at 9:45 a.m. at St. Gregory the Great R.C. Church with interment Calverton National Cemetery.
