The June 3 USA Track and Field, LI Division 8K Championship Race

NYS Senator Elaine Phillips is a generous sponsor of the 2018 Championship 8K Race and Community Event, Denton Avenue School, NHP/Herricks

New Hyde Park-Mineola Running Club member Stephen Cipot attended the NHP Memorial Day Weekend Parade and Ceremony and met with NYS Senator Elaine Phillips. Senator Phillips is a generous sponsor of the Club’s forthcoming 8K race, and will kick off the main event at 8:30 AM, June 3, at the Denton Avenue School. This is the Club’s 41st annual USA Track and Field, LI Division 8K Championship Race, for individual and team scoring, and all are welcome. One of the oldest races on LI.

The event raises funds for the Nassau County Firefighter’s Operation Wounded Warrior Program and scout troops. The Club donated $4,000 to the NCFF-OWW program, and $500 to Boy Scout Troop 298 from the proceeds of its 40th annual 2017 event. The volunteer firefighter program provides benefits to wounded LI veterans above and beyond what the VA provides, including veterans in greater New Hyde Park and Mineola. The Club is proud to serve the community.
