'Jurassic Park' Comes To North Hempstead For Drive-In Film Series

TOWN OF NORTH HEMPSTEAD, NY — Dinosaurs, aliens and the world's most famous hedgehog are coming to the Town of North Hempstead this month.

The town this week announced the July schedule for its popular drive-in movie series. "Sonic the Hedgehog" will screen July 11 and July 12 at Westbury High School. "Jurassic Park" will screen July 18 at North Hempstead Beach Park in Port Washington followed by "Space Jam" on July 25.

Cars will be admitted beginning at 8 p.m. and movies will start at 9 p.m. Registration began July 1. The events are free but the town encouraged attendees to bring nonperishable and canned foods to each showing for a donation drive.

Residents must register their cars in advance online or by calling 311. Registration is open to residents even if they previously registered and attended a town drive-in movie.

No food will be available for purchase at the events. Residents are encouraged to bring their own snacks. Restroom facilities will be available.
