LI Coronavirus: Pediatric Drive-Thru Testing Now Available

NASSAU COUNTY, NY—PM Pediatrics has opened Long Island’s first pediatric drive-thru coronavirus testing site in Manhasset.

In order to take advantage of the service, patients must referred by a PM Pediatrics provider from a visit at one of its offices or on PM Pediatrics Anywhere.

"If you believe your child may need to be tested, please visit pmpediatricsanywhere.com to schedule a telemedicine visit," the New Hyde Park-based healthcare provider said on its website.

For children who are eligible for the test, parents can drive to a secure tent in the parking lot, where the child’s nose will be swabbed and a sample will be collected. Results will be reported in approximately four days, Long Island Business News reports.

According to PM Pediatrics, the risk for serious illness in children from COVID-19 remains extremely low. However, for children who present symptoms, parents are encouraged to contact their primary care provider or visit PM Pediatrics Anywhere to schedule a virtual visit and consult with a medical professional.
