The poor weather is set to begin Monday afternoon and continue into the next few days.

Forecasts say Long Island will be hit with dreary, rainy and windy weather from Monday afternoon into Wednesday thanks to the storm, which is causing flooding in the Carolinas, traveling up the east coast.
AccuWeather predicts residents will need to keep their rain coats and umbrellas handy for the next few days.
Occasional rain is set to begin around 3:30 p.m. Monday and Long Island will see on-and-off showers and cloudy skies until Tuesday morning, according to The Weather Channel. Anyone with outdoor plans should be on alert; plans may need to be canceled or postponed. The conditions may also cause a slower commute on the road as well as flight delays, AccuWeather reports.

- 2 a.m. to 4 a.m.— showers, feels like 46 to 45 degrees
- 5 a.m.— rain, feels like 45 degrees
- 6 a.m.— light rain, feels like 45 degrees
- 7 a.m. to 8 a.m.— showers, feels like 44 to 46 degrees
