New Hyde Park Coronavirus: Car Parade Planned Saturday

NEW HYDE PARK, NY—As the new coronavirus forces many people into isolation, this Saturday, April 4 at 11 a.m., the staff from all four elementary schools are planning a “car parade” throughout all of New Hyde Park and Garden City Park.

The staff from each school will have a caravan of cars parading through each of their own school’s streets to show their school spirit.

"In the light of these uncertain times, it will bring us all happiness to see our NHP-GCP families and see your smiling faces again. All are invited to show their Husky Pride and wear HGS attire or green and white! We are all looking forward to seeing you!" school officials said in a news release.

In order for the parade to be safe and successful, school officials have implemented the following rules:

● Please maintain your social distance.
● Please stay on the sidewalks with your own family and NOT with anyone else;
please do not congregate in groups.
● Also, please know that teachers will not be stopping at any point to get out of
their cars.
● While it’s not possible to travel down every street, we hope you can find a close
location to your home so that you can be a part of the fun!
