A law firm in New Hyde Park will be laying off more than two dozen employees, citing economic concerns following the coronavirus pandemic.

NEW HYDE PARK, NY – A law firm in New Hyde Park will be laying off more than two dozen employees, citing economic concerns following the coronavirus pandemic.

According to a state Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act (WARN) notice issued Friday, 34 employees at Gutman, Mintz, Baker and Sonnenfeldt, LLP, will be furloughed.

Furloughs that occurred on March 30 will extend until Jan. 1, 2021, on which date they will become permanent, according to the WARN notice.

The reason stated for the dislocation was filed as "economic."

According to the WARN Notice, the employees are not represented by a union.
