Pedestrian Struck in Lake Success Dies
Police impound a commercial vehicle involved in the crash, officials say.

The victim of a vehicular accident in Lake Success Thursday has died, authorities said.
Nassau Police say the woman, 74, was found on the east sidewalk of Lakeville Road near Farm Lane. She appeared to have been struck by a vehicle and was in cardiac arrest.
The woman, whom police have not yet identified, was transported to a nearby hospital where she was pronounced dead at 11:18 p.m. by hospital staff, police said.

A witness provided police with a registration plate for a vehicle that may have struck the victim. Lake Success Police located and stopped the commercial vehicle nearby on East Shore Road, and determined that it was involved in the crash, police said.
The vehicle was impounded at the scene, police said.

Police provided no additional information, other than the investigation is ongoing.
