Popular Ebooks, Audiobooks Available Free From Hillside Library

As people increasingly read and listen to books on their smartphone or tablet, they’re discovering one of the best resources is their local public library. New Hyde Park residents can access a wide selection of popular digital ebooks and audiobooks free from Hillside Public Library. With a library card, members of the community can borrow from the digital collection by downloading Libby, the award-winning reading app from OverDrive, or visiting https://nassau.overdrive.com/.

“The Hillside Library is pleased to expand our digital access to adults, teens and tweens, and children,” said Judith Loeb, Librarian at Hillside Public Library. “Required school reading, test prep books, fiction fun, biographies and history, recipes and home ideas, graphic novels, picture books, and so much more to explore. Stay connected this winter with the Library’s 24/7/365 online ebook and audiobook access for all ages!”

In addition, Hillside Public Library is hosting live, virtual demonstrations of how to get started with borrowing ebooks and audiobooks through the Libby app. These free online events feature sessions for both new and experienced users and takes place on February 3 (9-11am) and March 5 (9-11am). This locally selected collection offers ebooks and audiobooks including bestsellers and new releases. Readers may browse Hillside Public Library’s digital collection, instantly borrow titles and start reading or listening for free with a valid library card. This service is compatible with all major computers and devices, iPhone®, iPad®, Android™ phones and tablets and Chromebook™. Through Libby, readers can also “send to Kindle®” [US only]. All titles will automatically expire at the end of the lending period and there are no late fees. Readers can also download titles onto Libby for offline use.
