WATCH: Beluga Whales in Manhasset Bay

The belugas were spotted Friday morning.

A few people in Port Washington were in for a special surprise Friday morning.

Workers were repairing a dock overlooking Manhasset Bay when they spotted two beluga whales in the water around 7:30 a.m.

Belugas are typically found only in Arctic and subarctic waters, but they occasionally travel south and have been known to show up in the Long Island Sound, according to the Alliance of Marine Mammal Parks & Aquariums.
