$10,000 Reward From FBI And DA For New Rochelle Murder Suspects
The FBI and DA are each offering $5,000 for information leading to the location, arrest and prosecution of those behind the May 1 shooting.
NEW ROCHELLE, NY — Officials have announced a $10,000 reward in the investigation into the fatal shooting on a New Rochelle street on May 1.
Westchester District Attorney Miriam Rocah, FBI Assistant Director in Charge of the New York Office William F. Sweeney, Jr. and New Rochelle Police Commissioner Joseph Schaller today announced the reward in a joint statement. The money is being offered for information leading to the suspects in a shooting in which one man was killed and four others were wounded.
The DA’s Office and the FBI are each putting up $5,000 of the reward money for information “leading to the location, arrest and prosecution of the individual or individuals who opened fire on May 1, near the intersection of Horton Avenue and Brook Street.”

The murder is being investigated by the New Rochelle Police Department (NRPD), the FBI and the Westchester County DA’s Office. The NRPD released a video of a car that is believed to be connected with the shooting.

“The New Rochelle community is understandably shocked and scared by this brazen shooting and we are working closely with the NRPD and the FBI to identify and apprehend the shooter,” Rocah said. “We hope that this reward shows law enforcement’s commitment to pursue this case, bring forth credible witnesses and help the New Rochelle community feel safer. Gun violence on our streets will not be tolerated by this office and we will work aggressively to bring the people who did this to justice.”
The 29-year-old murder victim is thought to be a resident of Brooklyn. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
A second victim was shot in the back and underwent emergency surgery. The three others sustained what were described as non-life-threatening injuries.

“The New Rochelle Police Department is diligently investigating this case and working on a number of leads,” Commissioner Schaller said on Thursday. “Any help we can get from the community is always welcome and greatly appreciated. We are grateful to the FBI and the Westchester County District Attorney for their assistance in this investigation, and their offer of a substantial reward for information that will help us in our efforts to bring this investigation to a successful conclusion.”
