2016 Belmont Stakes: Live Stream, TV, Ticket Prices, Live Betting Odds
Whether you're going or watching on TV, here's everything you need to know about one of the biggest horse races of the year.
Elmont, NY — The 2016 Belmont Stakes will be run Saturday, June 11 in Elmont, N.Y. Even though the Triple Crown isn't up for grabs this year, the Belmont Stakes is still one of the biggest horse races in the country.
The race — first run in 1867 — is the oldest of the three Triple Crown races and has been the site of some of the biggest moments in racing history. Secretariat's dominating 31-length victory at the Belmont Stakes in 1973 is still regarded as one of the best performances ever.

The venue:
The 2016 Belmont Stakes will be run at the Belmont Park racetrack in Elmont, N.Y. The historic racetrack is named after August Belmont, who made his fortune in banking and horse racing during the 1800s. His son, August Belmont Jr., is the founder of the racetrack.Â
The Belmont Stakes, at one-and-a-half miles, is the longest of the three Triple Crown races. The length of the race benefits horses with greater stamina and can often lead to exciting chase-down finishes.
