Alvin & Friends in New Rochelle (49 Lawton Street; 654-6549) was the site for a fundraiser hosted by Terry Prettyman Bowles and Alvin Bowles for a new documentary “Life’s Essentials with Ruby Dee” on May 21st, The documentary film, produced by Ms. Dee’s grandson Muta’Ali, celebrates 90 years of love, art and activism.
